Lake Singkarak with Bilih rare fish

"Danau Singkarak" is located between two districts, Tanah Datar and Solok. Lake Singkarak is one of the five lakes that used pre-eminent tourist attraction. Four other lake is, "Danau Diatas", located in sub-district Lembah Gumanti, on Alahan Panjang plateau, with an area of approximately 17.19 hectares. "Danau Dibawah", an area of about 16.83 hectares, is located about one kilometer south of "Danau Diatas". Next, "Danau Talang", located in Lembang Jaya sub-district, located approximately two kilometers from the "Danau Kembar" ("Danau Diatas" and "Danau Dibawah"). Lake Singkarak is the second largest lake in Sumatra after the "Danau Toba". The extent of 107.8 hectares.

The trees growing along the banks of the lake, the limiting land with lake water. Environment which is green and the cool air, into its own pleasure if you visit there. Lake Singkarak located about 80 kilometers from the city of Padang. Can be reached using public transportation.

You can explore the Lake Singkarak by boat, or motor boats and rickshaws to get around the lake. The fare is relatively cheap. There is still another feature unique to Lake Singkarak, which contained rare fish species, which perhaps only one in the world. This species is named fish Bilih (Mystacoleucus padangensis). This fish can not be cultivated outside their natural habitat, both in the aquarium, pond, even in floating nets in Lake Singkarak though. You can also enjoy a meal in the vicinity of Lake Singkarak, because there are people who open a restaurant with a menu mainstay Bilih fish.
