The Headaches and Hassles of Airport Travel and Ways to Solve it

With the massive amount of people that travel everyday especially on airlines we always face risks. The millions of people that take to the air to travel have faced concerns over waiting in long security lines due to matters at the security line. It makes you wonder if clear airport security is even possible with all the recent stories about trouble at the airports on security issues.

Recently in the news the Orlando Sanford International Airport made headlines when it announced they were switching to a security service only using private screeners contracted by the TSA. This announcement makes the airport one only the 16th airports in the country that will not use federal agents for airline security.

I believe that if this is a success for the Orlando airport switching to this new system, it could cause many other airports to take note and switch to their own private security system. Obviously this would not solve the potential risk of terrorism at the airport but it would make the lives of those who travel much easier.

Programs are also starting to come into place that can help save people long waits in line. CLEAR is a system that is trying to solve this problem by using a biometrical scanning system to get people through security checkpoints faster thus saving them time from waiting in line. The way it works is you scan a card that has your biometric information linked on it through a kiosk and it verifies all the necessary info you need to show at the checkpoint getting you to your flight faster.

It is my hope that we will continue to see a balance between trying to keep people safe at the airport and providing convenience to the passengers. These recent developments are a good sign that while we still have to keep in mind the potential dangers of airline travel, there also have to be a fine line of keeping passengers safe and happy as opposed to keeping them safe and unhappy.
