Gunung Leuser National Park is located in the district of Aceh Singkil, Aceh Selatan, Aceh Tenggara, Gayo Luwes (Aceh province), and Langkat (North Sumatra). Land area 792,675 hectares. Altitude of 3,404 meters above sea level. Temperature of 21-28 C.

The specialty of the Gunung Leuser National Park is a very dense forest, typical of coastal forests and tropical rain forests. Inside the park there are several rivers, lakes, hot springs, canyons, and waterfalls. Natural ecosystems are very beautiful and diverse, covering the lowlands (coast) to the mountains.

Gunung Leuser National Park there are a variety of endangered species are protected, such as cat, Sumatran tiger, hornbill, orangutans, gibbons, snakes, butterflies, birds, Sumatran elephants, Sumatran rhinos, forest goats, deer sambar. In addition, there are rare plants and plant strangler, like a giant flower "rhizanthes zippelnii" with a diameter of 1.5 meters, Raflesia flowers, and leaves a large umbrella.

Gunung Leuser National Park there are six major tourist sites, namely Bohorol or Bukit Lawang, Kluet, Gunung Leuser, Sungai Alas, Sekunder, and Gurah.
  • Bohorol, known as the conservation of orangutans.
  • Kluet, a cave tour and canoe on the lakes and rivers.
  • Gunung Leuser, as a place of adventure climbing and mountain climbing.
  • Alas river, often used as a location for white water rafting.
  • Secondary, as a campground, wildlife observation, and tour the cave.
  • Gurah, as the location for enjoying the beautiful scenery with a variety of unique and rare plants, as well as the observation range of endangered species are protected.
